May be a dumb question but...?

I have some meat that's half way thawed out and still in the styrofoam tray with plastic wrap around it. Can I nuke the whole dog gone thing in the microwave to thaw it out the rest of the way even with it still wrapped? (If not they should make the packaging so you can).
