Do you think we need to make a rule now regarding religion and human habitation in space?
I mean, a rule prohibiting people from practicing religion in space. It’s just that whether humans are living in giant spaceships exploring the wonders of our galaxy or whether they are living in giant space stations orbiting some distant planet, the last thing we need is for some wild eyed, foaming-at-the-mouth zealot to claim that their god told them to kill abortion clinic workers or kill people who are attracted to the wrong gender. Here on earth, religion doesn’t really matter because if you don’t like the dominant religion in practice where you live, you can just go somewhere else, but in space, we won’t have that option. I know it’s very early days but, do you think we need to act now to designate space as a religion free zone?
