Sims 2 - magic lamp -genie wishes?

When the sims get given a magic lamp, what do the options do? I know the wealth one gives them bags of money, just tried the live a long life and he has been saved from the reaper twice - how long does that last for? Also what happens with the beauty one? I've picked that a few times but my sims have always looked the same.
