Phase Shift osicallation.?

I'm just going to give this a shot, but don't trust my answer, because I'm not quite sure what you're asking. If an object is travelling one direction, and moves to the other, wouldn't that be kind of be like a phase shift of 180 degrees, or pi radians? Again, what you are asking doesn't make sense, because phase shift usually has to do with waves or springs, not with moving objects..... but I don't know everything, so just take my answer for what it's worth
